Cliff Martin was sick. His nose was stuffed up and his head hurt. But even the few aches and pains couldn’t stop the ARTech junior from getting the votes he needed.
At Saturday’s 2nd Congressional District Convention, Martin was one of four chosen as a delegate to September’s Democratic National Convention in Charlott, N.C in Charlotte, N.C.
For Martin, who can’t yet vote — he turns 18 in July — it’s an opportunity to pick the brains of some of the nation’s most active and interested leaders — his fellow delegates. It’s also an experience he believes will help him understand civic engagement from the inside out.
